Inter have gained 19+ points after the first seven Serie A matches for the first time since the 2002/03 season.

Nikola Kalinic has scored four goals against Inter in the Italian top-flight (his favourite opponent in the competition alongside Cagliari) – against the Nerazzurri he scored the first of his two hat-tricks in Serie A (September 2015, with Fiorentina).

Leonardo Bonucci made his Serie A debut with Inter, against Cagliari in May 2006.

Inter have lost only one over the last 12 league home clashes against AC Milan (W8 D3): they have alternated a win and a draw in the last six.

Inter have more league goals in the last 15 minutes of play than any other Serie A side this season (8) – AC Milan are yet to score a goal in the same period.

Inter have attempted the most crosses from open play in Serie A this season (152): in fact Candreva and Perisic are two of the three players with the most open play crosses in this season’s Serie A.

nter have found the net in 30 of their last 31 league home games, winning 21 games in the process (D4 L6).

MILAN – To win the #DerbyMilano is always a special feeling, to win it in the 90th minute is even more so. Luciano Spalletti’s Inter continued their run of form with a 3-2 win over Milan after a dramatic match featuring a marvellous Mauro Icardi hat-trick.

At a packed San Siro, the match started with a good tempo. The first big chance was for Candreva who received the ball from Borja Valero before hitting the bar with a placed effort. In the 20th minute, Milan got up the pitch and Suso tried his luck from range and the shot went narrowly wide. Three minutes later, Miranda headed wide from a Perisic cross. The incident which broke the stalemate in the #DerbyMilano came in the 28th minute. Borja Valero won the ball in the midfield to set up a Nerazzurri counterattack which ended with Icardi getting away from Bonucci and Musacchio to convert from a perfect Candreva cross. Inter took control after going ahead and a long-range Icardi shot was saved from distance by Donnarumma as the effort was too central and the same happened from Vecino minutes later. 60 seconds from the whistle, Milan had their best chance of the half as Kessie set up Borini whose low shot was saved by Handanovic. Tagliavento then blew the whistle with the Nerazzurri a goal up.

For the second half, Montella altered his side by bringing on Cutrone for Kessie, with the Rossoneri very nearly snatching an instant equaliser. With the ball falling to Andrea Silva in the 49th minute, the ball rebounded off the post for Musacchio, whose subsequent finish was ruled offside by the linesman. This Milan flurry then continued with Handanovic pulling off saves to keep out both Suso and Borini, while Cutrone was then only able to find the side-netting in the 54th minute despite a fine cross from Rodriguez. However, just two minutes late,r Milan finally found their equaliser, with Handanovic left helpless after a great individual effort from Suso. Inter responded immediately, with Vecino trying his luck in the 60th minute after good work from Candreva. Two minutes later, Handanovic produced a wonderful stop to keep out Bonaventura, with Icardi then finding the net once again just 60 seconds later. Played in precisely by Perisic, the Nerazzurri captain executed a perfectly sliced volley to help Inter regain the lead. With the #DerbyMilano in full flow, it was now Milan’s turn to fire back, with Bonaventura getting the better of our Slovenian shot-stopper, who despite his best efforts, was unable to keep out a close-range effort in the 80th minute. However, it was not over yet for the home side, with Rodriguez bringing down D’Ambrosio in the 89th minute and Tagliavento awarding a penalty kick. Cool, calm and composed, Icardi stepped up to send Donnarumma the wrong way, consequently sealing all thee points for his side and topping off a special display with a well-taken hat-trick. Inter now remain second in the Serie A standings, increasing their current points tally to 22.
