Cruz, Adriano: off the bench and in the net

A third of Inter's eighteen league goals this season have been scored by Julio Cruz and Adriano in matches the two strikers came on as substitutes. El Jardinero came off the bench to score twice at Palermo, once at home to Lecce and once away to Lecce. Adriano scored twice against Roma in midweek. No other team has scored as many goals with substitutes.

wins(30) draws(22) defeats(13)
GENOA - Inter twice came back from behind at the Luigi Ferraris to hold Sampdoria to a 2-2 draw - the Nerazzurri's first of the season. Aimo Diana netted a brace of goals for the home side, with Cambiasso and Cordoba scoring for Inter.

The Blucerchiati midfielder stole in at the back post to head in a Pisano cross after just six minutes, then Adriano, Martins and Solari all had attempts blocked by Antonioli as the Nerazzurri fought back.

On his return to competitive action for Inter Sinisa Mihajlovic had a curling free kick tipped over the bar by the Samp keeper before Esteban Cambiasso equalised on the half hour. The Argentine midfielder controlled Martins' assist with his chest then crashed home a left-foot shot to score his second of the season.

Samp retook the lead almost immediately when Diana met a Zenoni centre then sent a looping header over Julio Cesar, but Inter's reaction was just as quick when Ivan Cordoba beat Bonazzoli to Mihajlovic's cross then powered home a header.

Most of the second-half action took place in the Samp half but the Nerazzurri failed to take their chances, the best of which fell to Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins, who fired wide from an inviting position after receiving from Adriano. Sampdoria went close to a late winner when Bonazzoli headed a Zauli cross on to the crossbar.
