One win against Inter in 25 attempts for Delio Rossi

This is Delio Rossi's 26th meeting with Inter in a competitive fixture. The current Sampdoria coach has recorded just a single win to date (Lecce 2-1 Inter on 2 May 2004, Serie A), with six draws and 18 defeats.

Kuzmanovic eyeing 100th game with Italian clubs

Should he feature this afternoon, Zdravko Kuzmanovic will make his 100th appearance in competitive fixtures for an Italian team. His 99 games to date – wearing the colours of Fiorentina and Inter – are divided as follows: 75 in Serie A, three in the Coppa Italia and 21 in European competition. Kuzmanovic made his Italian debut on 4 March 2007 in Fiorentina 5-1 Torino (Serie A).

No bore draws for Nerazzurri in 2012/13

Inter and Roma are the only two teams yet to have been involved in 0-0 draw in 2012/13 Serie A. Stramaccioni's side's last goalless stalemate came away to Fiorentina on 22 April 2012, 32 matchdays ago.

Nerazzurri on the road: conceded in last 10

Inter have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 away trips in Serie A, letting in 20 goals in the process. The last time they kept the door closed for the whole 90 minutes in an away fixture was on 7 October 2012: AC Milan 0-1 Inter.

Four home wins on the trot for Samp

Sampdoria have claimed victory in each of their last four Serie A matches played at the Stadio Ferraris, against Pescara (6-0), Roma (3-1), ChievoVerona (2-0) and Parma (1-0). They haven't dropped points on home soil since 13 January when AC Milan held them to a goalless stalemate. If Delio Rossi's men were to win today, it would be their longest winning run at home since April-August 2010.

Delio Rossi: 700 games as coach

Delio Rossi is celebrating his 700th match as a professional coach this evening. His 699 previous games (with Salernitana, Foggia, Pescara, Genoa, Lecce, Atalanta, Lazio, Palermo, Fiorentina and Sampdoria) have come in the following competitions: 47 in Serie A, 223 in Serie B, 34 in Serie C-1, 59 in the Coppa Italia, 8 in the Serie C Coppa Italia, 20 in European competition and eight in other tournaments. Rossi's overall record reads 261 wins, 210 draws and 228 defeats.

GENOA - Inter got back to winning ways by beating Sampdoria 2-0 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this evening. Rodrigo Palacio grabbed both goals in a victory that takes the Nerazzurri up to 50 points in the table.

The first period was an evenly matched affair with chances for both sides but it was Inter who broke the deadlock two minutes before half time. Pereira carried the ball forward before floating a ball into the box for Palacio to latch onto and nod into the far corner. Handanovic did his job superbly as always, pulling off a number of stops to keep Inter in front. Palacio sealed the win with his second of the night in stoppage time after going it alone on the counter-attack: he beat Palombo for pace and escaped from Obiang then finished clinically past Romero. That's 22 goals for the Nerazzurri striker this season.
