Mazzarri's below-par February form

With the exception of June, when there are not always league fixtures, February is Walter Mazzarri's worst month of the footballing calendar. The current Napoli coach has a points-per-game average of 1.17, with 8 wins, 17 draws and 10 defeats from 35 February league games.

Four clean sheets in a row for Napoli

Napoli haven't conceded at home in Serie A since Ranocchia's 63rd-minute goal for Bari in their 3-2 victory over the Galletti. The Azzurri have since hosted Chievo (1-0), Sampdoria (2-0), Palermo (0-0) and Genoa (0-0) at the Stadio San Paolo, managing four consecutive clean sheets.

More penalties, red cards than any other team

Napoli have had 7 penalties given against them so far this season (4 goals & 3 misses) - more than any other Serie A club. And the Azzurri have had more players sent off than any of their rivals, with 8 red cards in 23 matches.

Dossena set to make 200th appearance

By appearing against Inter at the San Paolo, Andrea Dossena will complete a milestone 200 appearances for Italian clubs. Dossena made his professional debut for Verona in a 3-2 derby win over Chievo in Serie A on 18 November 2001. Besides Verona he has also played Italian football for Treviso, Udinese and Napoli, making 90 appearances in Serie A, 97 in Serie B and 12 in the Italian Cup.

Napoli, Inter and goalless draws

Napoli have five goalless draws this season - more than any other team. Inter are one of two teams yet to draw 0-0 in the 2009/10 Serie A, the other team being Juventus. Inter's last 0-0 draw in Serie A was away to Fiorentina on 29 October 2008. The Nerazzurri have since played 52 league games.

No Inter goal away to Napoli in three games

Inter last scored away to Napoli in a 2-0 Serie victory on 18 October 1997. On that occasion Galante opened the scoring in the 10th minute, with Turrini adding an own goal in the 69th. The Nerazzurri have since played three matches at the Stadio San Paolo, losing 1-0 in 2000/01, 2007/08 and 2008/09.

Inter unbeaten in twelve games

The Nerazzurri have won 9 games and drawn 3 since their last defeat, a 2-1 loss to Juventus in Turin on 5 December 2009.

Inter goalless in one of last twenty-five

Inter have failed to score in only one of their last 25 matches (0-2 at Barcelona on 24 November 2009), notching 48 goals in the other 24. In Serie A, Inter have scored 61 goals in their last 28 games, failing to score only once (0-1 at Sampdoria on 26 September 2009).

NAPLES - Inter were held 0-0 for the first time in 53 league matches as Napoli gave José Mourinho's side a hard game at the Stadio San Paolo.

An entertaining encounter saw the woodwork hit three times and some exciting counter-attacking play, but it's points that count and the Nerazzurri, who move seven clear of Roma at the top, will regard this one as a valuable away result.

Mazzarri's men made a strong start in front of their vociferous home fans and Marek Hamsik fired a warning in the 10th minute. Zanetti made a clearance from Gargano's inswinging cross and the Slovakian latched onto the loose ball before cannoning his long-range effort onto the crossbar. Denis chested down the rebound but couldn't get a close-range shot in as Samuel timed his challenge perfectly.

Fabio Quagliarella rifled into the side-netting and smacked a crisp shot wide before Julio Cesar's amazing save from Denis as the Azzurri created plenty of first-half chances. Inter went close on the half-hour when Sulley Muntari's well-taken left-foot shot from the edge of the area bounced back off the bar.

Inter threatened De Sanctis's goal in an attacking start to the second half, the Napoli keeper saving Sneijder's crisp effort from edge of the box before making a punched block from Pandev who brilliantly turned his marker after receiving from Mariga.

Napoli dominated the remainder of the game in terms of chances and were left rueing a series of misses. Julio Cesar narrowed the angle well to thwart Hamsik who diverted Quagliarella's cross-shot on target. Quagliarella then rattled the post with a low effort from Denis' headed pass and the Argentine blazed his follow-up over with the goal gaping.

Hamsik combined well with Denis as Napoli produced two good chances in the closing stages, but his finishing was left wanting as both efforts flew wide as the Azzurri were left to settle for their sixth goalless draw this season.
