Napoli: one defeat in last 17 Serie A matches

Napoli have been beaten just once in their last 17 outings in Serie A: 2-0 at the hands of Chievo in Verona on 10 March. In the other 16 games in this period, Mazzarri's men have recorded 10 wins and 6 draws.

Chivu's 200th time in Serie A

Cristian Chivu will be making his 200th appearance in the Italian top flight if features in tonight's game. The Romanian defender's 199 to date have come wearing the colours of Roma and Inter. He made his Serie A debut on 14 September 2003, in Roma 5-0 Brescia.

No bore draws for Inter in 2012/13

Inter and Roma are the only two teams in the current Serie A campaign yet to play out a 0-0 draw. The Nerazzurri's last goalless encounter was away to Fiorentina on 22 April 2012, 38 league matches ago.

Nerazzurri without a penalty in 23 games

Stramaccioni's team have been awarded just three penalties in the 2012/13 Serie A. The last spot kick given in Inter's favour was against Juventus on November 3 2012, Milito converting to level at 1-1 before the Nerazzurri went on to win 3-1.

Inter's 15-and-a-half-year barren patch at the San Paolo

Inter last left Naples with all three points on 19 October 1997, when Galante (10) and a Turrini own goal (69) sealed a 2-0 success. In the Nerazzurri's following eight encounters at the San Paolo, they have collected just three draws while Napoli have won the other five. What's more, Inter have scored on just one occasion: Eto'o netted with 15 minutes on the clock in the 1-1 draw on 15 May 2011.

NAPLES - The home side came out on top in the late game in Serie A 2012/13 Week 35. It finished Napoli 3-1 Inter at the Stadio San Paolo thanks to a treble from Edinson Cavani. Inter equipped themselves well despite the defeat, with the Nerazzurri squad still decimated by injury.

The Partenopei took just three minutes to move in front: Cavani took Pandev's nicely-weighted through ball into his stride and finished unerringly past Handanovic. Inter though levelled matters from the spot on 23 minutes. Alvarez was sent tumbling as Zuniga - who escaped a booking - tried in vain to get back. The Argentine duly dispatched the penalty himself. Napoli though retook the lead before the interval thanks to another spot-kick. Zuniga was again involved, this time in the opposition penalty area, as he went down under challenge with Jonathan. Cavani found the back of the net from twelve yards for his 100th goal in Napoli colours.

The Nerazzurri were still very much in the match until Cavani sealed his hat-trick twelve minutes from time. The Uruguayan started a move on the break, playing it forward to Pandev. The Macedonian then sent a teasing ball across and 'El Matador' was on hand to slide the ball into the back of the net. It finished Napoli 3-1 Inter.
