Inter chasing 10th consecutive win

José Mourinho's team are unbeaten in 35 home games, having won 26 and drawn 9 since their 1-0 Champions League defeat to Panathinaikos on 26 November 2008. The Nerazzurri go into Inter-Samp after a healthy run of 9 straight home victories over Fiorentina (1-0 in Serie A), Rubin Kazan (2-0 in Champions League), Livorno (1-0 in Coppa Italia), Lazio (1-0 in Serie A), Siena (4-3 in Serie A), AC Milan (2-0 in Serie A), Juventus (2-1 in Coppa Italia), Fiorentina (1-0 in Coppa Italia) and Cagliari 3-0 in Serie A).

Two clean sheets since 28 January

Inter have not conceded a goal since Diego's 10th-minute strike in the 2-1 Coppa Italia victory over Juventus on 28 January. The Nerazzurri have since kept clean sheets against Fiorentina (1-0 in Coppa Italia) and Cagliari (3-0 in Serie A).

Eto'o, Milito on fire for Inter

Samuel Eto'o and Diego Milito are Serie A's most potent strike partnership after 24 rounds of matches. The two forwards have earned Inter 28 points thanks to their goals (14 each).

No Samp goal away to Inter since 2006

Francesco Flachi was the last Sampdoria player to score away to Inter. He netted from the penalty spot in the 48th minute of a 1-1 Serie A draw on 16 September 2006. The Blucerchiati have since played four away games against the Nerazzurri (0-0 draw in Coppa Italia in 2006/07; 3-0 defeat in Serie A in 2007/08; 1-0 defeat in Serie A in 2008/09; and 1-0 defeat in Coppa Italia in 2008/09).

Accardi set to make 100th appearance

If he plays against Inter, Sampdoria's Pietro Accardi will make his 100th appearance for the Blucerchiati. The 27-year-old defender, who made his Samp debut in a 2-0 Serie A home win over Lazio on 25 October, has played 85 Serie A matches for the Genoa outfit, as well as 11 games in the Coppa Italia and five in European competitions.

Samp vulnerable on the road

Sampdoria have conceded in 26 of their last 27 away games, letting in a total of 47 goals. The only match in this series without conceding was a 1-0 victory away to Atalanta on 13 September 2009.

MILAN - Nine-man Inter battled for a point against Sampdoria after having both central defenders sent off in the first half.

The draw - our third consecutive stalemate in Serie A after the 1-1 and 0-0 results away to Parma and Napoli - lifts the Nerazzurri eight points clear of second-placed Roma and ten clear of third-placed AC Milan, who both play their Week 25 fixtures on Sunday.

Walter Samuel, already booked for a foul on Pozzi in the 28th minute, was shown a straight red in the 31st for a last-man challenge on the Samp striker.

The Argentine was followed into the players tunnel by Ivan Cordoba seven minutes later, Tagliavento showing the Colombian a second yellow after a foul on Pozzi.

Inter played with nine men against eleven for most of the second half and were offered a lifeline with fifteen minutes remaining when Pazzini was sent off for a second booking.

On a night in which he made few friends, referee Tagliavento needlessly yellow-carded Eto'o for an apparent dive. The decision sparked a panolada in the stands - the waving of white handkerchiefs as a sign of disgust that is more commonly seen in Spanish stadiums.

The atmosphere of anger was perhaps felt by Sampdoria's players, who failed to capitalise on their numerical superiority and Julio Cesar only had two real saves to make in the second half, one from Mannini's long-range shot and the other from Pozzi's flicked header.

The best chances were Inter's, Sneijder sending his long-range free kick just over the bar before Eto'o had a close-range effort well saved by Storari after being brilliantly put through by Pandev.
