Inter's second-half form

Inter have improved their results in the second halves of matches this season to earn 23 points, more than any other team taking part in the 2006/07 Serie A championship.

Inter close to yet another record

Inter's 2006/07 team are two victories away from equalling the club's record of 27 wins in one Serie A season, set in 1950/51. The absolute record for the Italian championship belongs to the Great Torino side, who racked up 29 victories in 1947/48, the only Italian league season to be played with 21 teams over 42 matchdays.

Inter's golden moments

With ten goals, Inter have scored more than any other 2006/07 Serie A team in the first fifteen-minute periods of matches. Mancini's side are also prolific from 46'-60' with 14 goals (along with Roma), and from 61'-75' with 20 goals. Inter are one of four teams to have conceded just 4 goals from 61'-75'. The other three are Empoli, Fiorentina and Roma.

Argentine trio prolific in April

Three of Inter's Argentine players are particularly prolific in the fourth calendar month. Julio Cruz, scorer of 60 Serie A goals, has netted 10 times in April. Solari has scored half of his 4 Italian league goals in the same month, while Crespo counts April as one of his best periods of the year along with November and February, with 18 goals in each month out of a total of 128.

Inter: new record of Serie A away wins

Inter have set a new club record of 13 Serie A away victories this season, bettering the previous record of 11 wins set in 1963/64 and 1988/89. Victory over Siena will see Mancini's Nerazzurri equal Juventus' all-time record of 14 Serie A away wins in 1949/50.

Inter without defeat in 21 away matches

Inter's last away defeat was the 1-0 Champions League loss to Sporting Lisbon on 12 September 2006. The Nerazzurri have won 16 and drawn 5 since then.

Inter unbeaten in Serie A since April 2006

Inter's last league defeat away from home came almost a year ago, on 30 April 2006 when they lost 1-0 at Empoli. Since then the Nerazzurri have collected 13 Serie A wins and 4 draws.

Inter will win the Scudetto if...

...they beat Siena away and Roma lose at Atalanta. If that happens, the Nerazzurri will seal the title with five games remaining. Only two teams have managed that feat in Serie A history: Torino in 1947/48 and Fiorentina in 1955/56. The Granata beat Lazio 4-3 to lift the title, while the Viola drew 1-1 at Triestina.

Siena's poor starts to both halves

Siena, along with Torino, have scored just one goal in the opening fifteen-minute periods of Serie A matches this season. The Tuscan Bianconeri have also scored just once in the first fifteen-minute periods of second halves (no other team has scored fewer). Siena, however, have let in just one goal from the 1st to 15th minutes of matches (no other team has conceded fewer in this period).

Siena and substitutions

Siena are one of three teams to have made the most substitutions after 32 rounds of matches: 95 out of a possible 96. The other two are Atalanta and Chievo.

Siena and spot kicks

Siena have been awarded fewer penalty kicks than any other team after 32 rounds of the 2006/07 Serie A championship: just 2. And they have missed them both.

Disciplinary situation

Disqualified: Bertotto, Molinaro, Portanova (Siena); Adriano, Figo (Inter).

Cautioned: Antonini, Benussi, Brevi, Chiesa, Frick, Galloppa, Locatelli, Rinaudo (Siena); Cordoba, Maicon, Stankovic (Inter).

MILAN - I campioni d'Italia siamo noi! Inter win the 2006/07 Scudetto with a 2-1 victory over Siena as second-placed Roma went down by the same score against Atalanta.

Marco Materazzi gave Inter the lead, and scored again from the penalty spot after Negro's equaliser.

With 26 wins, 6 draws and just 1 defeat, Inter wrap up their second consecutive Serie A title with five games to spare.

Only two teams have managed that feat in Serie A history: Torino in 1947/48 and Fiorentina in 1955/56.

Roberto Mancini becomes the third coach in Inter history to win back-to-back league titles after Alfredo Foni (1952/53 and 1953/54) and Helenio Herrera (1964/65 and 1965/66).

Materazzi got Inter off to a perfect start at the Franchi, firing in his seventh of the season from a yard out in the 18th minute after Negro's goalline block from Maicon's initial shot.

But the home side levelled against the run of play when ex-Lazio defender Negro headed in Rinaudo's headed assist from Galloppa's left-wing cross.

Manninger saved two powerful headers from Ibrahimovic as the Nerazzurri looked to increase their lead before the break.

If Inter needed a half-time tonic, it came from the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia as the news arrived that Atalanta had taken a 2-0 lead against Roma.

Relegation-threatened Siena almost edged in front right after the interval, but Julio Cesar made a crucial one-footed save from Negro's backheeled shot.

Inter got the goal they needed on 61 minutes when Materazzi surpassed his self-declared target of seven goals. The World Cup winner sent Manninger the wrong way with a spot-kick that had to be taken twice following a foul by the Siena keeper on Cruz.

But Siena, still looking for their first ever home win against the Nerazzurri, weren't giving up and Inter had Maicon to thank for a block on the line from Galloppa.

On a hat-trick, Materazzi went close to increasing Inter's advantage but his far-post header from Recoba's pin-point delivery finished wide of the woodwork.

Zanetti made a headed clearance from Negro's flicked header, and Antonini crashed wide from close range as Siena launched a late assault on the Inter goal, but the Nerazzurri held on for the all-important victory.

Scudetto! Scudetto number 15. A title that will be dedicated to the unforgettable Giacinto Facchetti, who died just five days before the start of the 2006/07 championship.
