As the Serie A title chase nears the finish line, Internazionale continue their pursuit of Milan with a home match on Saturday at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza against Fiorentina, who have hopes of staying in the hunt for a place in the Conference League Qualifiers.

Internazionale sit in third place on 59 points, four points behind Milan at the top of the table with nine matches to play. Fifth-placed Lazio, the first club outside of the Champions League spots, are 10 points behind the Nerazzurri. Inter earned a point in their last Serie A match, drawing 1-1 at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino against Torino, extending their unbeaten streak to three (W1 D2 L0).

Fiorentina defeated Bologna 1-0 at home in their last Serie A match, leaving them in eighth place on 46 points. The Viola trail sixth-placed Atalanta by two points for a spot in the Conference League Qualifiers.

When the two sides last met in Serie A action, Inter came out on top 3-1 at Stadio Artemio Franchi in September. Matteo Darmian opened the scoring for the Nerazzurri in the 52nd minute. Edin Dzeko and Ivan Perisic also were on the scoresheet. Riccardo Sottil scored the Viola's only goal in the 23rd minute.

Inter have got the better of Fiorentina of late, unbeaten in their last nine Serie A matches (W5 D4 L0). Fiorentina are looking for their first league win in games between the two sides since April 2017. The Nerazzurri have outscored the Viola 19-10 during their unbeaten streak.

Inter (with Lazio) are one of two teams to have scored the most goals in the last 30 minutes of games in Serie A this season (22 goals), while Fiorentina have scored the most goals in the 30 central minutes (between 31st and 60th minutes, 23 goals).

With four goals and four assists Hakan Calhanoglu has been involved in eight goals against Fiorentina in Serie A (in just nine games), more than against any other team in the top-flight; the Inter midfielder has delivered eight assists this season, just one fewer than his most in a season in Serie A (nine in both 2019/20 and 2020/21).

The attacking prowess of Lautaro Martínez and Dzeko has made a difference for Inter this season. Martínez is the side's leading scorer with 14 goals, which is the fourth highest in the league's scoring charts, four of which have been the critical first of the match. Dzeko has been nearly as impressive with 12 goals.

Inter have gained 32 points in 14 home games in Serie A this season, more than any other team; on five of the last seven occasions in which the Nerazzurri have won 32+ points in their first 14 Serie A home games they have then won the Scudetto (except for second place in 2010/11 and seventh in 2016/17).
