WeWorld Festival: Roberto Samaden to represent Inter

MILAN-  On November 23, 24 and 25, the WeWorld Festival is taking place at the Unicredit Pavilion in Milan. There are films, talks, debates and exhibitions on the topic of women’s rights.

The talks, roundtable discussions, performances, films and exhibitions coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with the aim of boosting female empowerment.

At 17:30 CET on Saturday, the Director of the Inter Elite Academy RobertoSamaden will take part in the talk: "Let’s protect girls. The dark side of sport: the case of equestrian." Using the case study of equestrian where there has been an increase in incidents and formal accusations of abuse, there will be a reflection on the need to protect girls, boys and adolescents from the dark side of sport. The women’s movement Cavallo Rosa that exposes cases of abuse in equestrian will tell their story and highlight the need to adopt regulations with severe sanctions and punishments that set an example alongside a rigorous code of ethics in order to prevent abuse from sullying the good name of sport.

The Nerazzurri’s Director will speak about the importance of ‘all-around’ educational approach and describe positive examples from the Inter Elite Academy. After, the President of the ‘Centro Italiano per la Promozione della Mediazione (CIPM)’ Paolo Giulini will illustrate the project that aims to combat child sexual abuse at FC Internazionale Milano. Inter and CIPM have developed a project together with the aim of fighting against the abuse of minors in sport. The adults who work daily with the young people play a frontline role as they gain their confidence and hold a position where they’re the first to notice any abnormal behaviour.

It is the first time that such a safeguarding project has been developed in Italy while in other countries such as the United Kingdom, they are compulsory. In leading the way on this front, Inter are showing how important child development is for the club.
