MILAN - Time continues to run down ahead of Inter vs. Juventus with kick-off at 20:45 CEST on Sunday at the Meazza. It’s a special fixture and one that follows on quickly from the Champions League loss against Barcelona. In that match, Inter showed great courage and character while Lautaro Martinez was a key player. The Argentine forward spoke to Sky Sport ahead of the Derby d’Italia: “We can learn a lot from the Barcelona match. We have a lot of young players in the team, we know that we need to give a little bit more in every match. Then, a side like the Catalan one has real class and great players. If we lost, it’s because we got some things wrong but we must also take the things that we did well and continue down that path.”
“After the game, I swapped shirts with Messi. I’m happy to have got his. I have a good relationship with him, it’s a dream for me to play with him for Argentina because I admired him so much as a child. He’s someone to look up to, I’m still young and I’d only just joined the Argentina set-up and he helps me to always to do my best in my role.
“I really like working with Antonio Conte. I share his approach and the way he thinks, his desire to keep the group together and the intensity in training. We’re taking on Juventus after another big match on Wednesday. It will be tough but we’re ready and prepared. We’re recovering well and we’ll be at 100 per cent so the Coach will be able to pick his best XI.
“Our aim is to think about each game as it comes. We always try to do our best, we’ll see where we finish up. This year, I played in the Copa America and I’ve got lots of playing time so I’m gaining confidence and experience. I always want to work for the good of the team.”
