There are ways to introduce yourself, and Romelu Lukaku has done this with few words and many goals at the start of his Inter career. He’s been on the scoresheet from the very beginning: he netted against Lecce in the Nerazzurri’s opening game of the season. Now the highest scorer in Belgium’s history, Lukaku has immediately become a key part of the Nerazzurri project after eight years of scoring on a regular basis in the Premier League. He’s done it in his own way: with a smile on his face and a desire to throw himself into the cause completely. He’s a point of reference for his teammates, a fan favourite and integral to the Nerazzurri’s attack.

The pursuit of victory is part of Romelu’s character, a man who as a youngster promised his mother that he would provide for his struggling family through his performances on the football pitch. He's always been a passionate football fan and he’s always had great affection for Inter, something he’s mentioned before: “The first final I saw on TV was Inter 3-0 Lazio at the Parc des Princes. This is one of the reasons why I’ve always followed Italian football. I’ll never forget Ronaldo’s goal and the skills he showed in that game. What a spectacle! And then I also adored Adriano with his great stature and left foot…I really liked him.”

The way Lukaku has taken to the Nerazzurri project therefore comes as no surprise.
