MILAN – Inter will take to the pitch on 7 December to face Juventus. We’ve teamed up with Opta to provide you with all the stats and trivia ahead of Friday evening’s match.

Juventus and Inter have played each other 170 times in Serie A: the Bianconeri have won 81 of those games, while Inter have come out on top 46 times. There have been 43 draws. With an average ball possession of 59.3% and 59.2% respectively, Juventus and Inter have had the ball the most out of all the teams in Serie A so far this season.

Antonio Candreva played for Juventus earlier on in his career: he made 16 appearances for the Bianconeri and scored twice during the 2009/10 season. Kwadwo Asamoah can also count Juventus amongst his previous clubs: the Ghanaian played 116 times in Serie A with Juventus, winning six Scudetto and four Coppa Italia titles during the six seasons he spent there. When playing for the opposition against Juventus, Asamoah has won three times, drawn once and lost twice in six meetings.

Since playing against Juventus for the first time on 6 January 2013, Mauro Icardi has found the back of the net eight times against the Bianconeri in Serie A. Only six teams have scored more times than this in the same period (Sampdoria 13; Napoli and Fiorentina 11; Inter, Roma and Verona 9). Mauro Icardi is the only player in Inter’s current squad to have scored at Juventus’s ground in Serie A: the Argentine player can boast at having celebrated three goals in Turin, including a double in January 2013 while playing for Sampdoria. Mauro Icardi has got on the scoresheet six times in his last four Serie A away games and has scored for four consecutive away matches in Italy’s top division for the first time in his career.

Keita Baldé has found the back of the net three times and provided one assist in his last two appearances in the league. Furthermore, the Senegalese player has scored 11 goals in his last 10 Serie A games played as a starter. Matteo Politano has scored against Juventus in the past (in September 2017 while playing for Sassuolo), but the Italian player has lost all of the five games he’s played against the Bianconeri in Serie A. Politano is the only player to have appeared in all of Inter’s 14 matches in Italy’s top division so far this season. Marcelo Brozovic is the player to have attempted the most passes up to this point in Serie A (986) and has averaged 107 passes in the games he’s played over 90 minutes so far – the highest average in the league.

As regards goalkeepers who have made at least 10 appearances in Serie A this season, Samir Handanovic is the top shot stopper percentage-wise when it comes to saves made (77.8%). Sepe and Szczesny are the second and third best goalkeepers on this list after having saved 77.5% and 75% of the shots fired at them respectively. Milan Skriniar is the player who has got in the way of the most shots from opposition players so far this season (15). Ivan Perisic hasn’t scored in his last 10 games in Serie A: he has already gone 11 games without scoring between December 2017 and March 2018.
