MILAN - Alessandro Bastoni was at the Inter Store in Milan together with Stefano Sensi to meet with fans for photos and autographs. He spoke to InterTV and Sky Sport at the event.
“We’d like to thank all the Nerazzurri fans for their constant support. I’m happy because Conte is putting a lot of faith in me: it’s really nice to receive compliments from such a great coach.” The full interview will be broadcast on InterTV at 19:30 CET tonight.
“The number 95 on the back of my shirt? It’s the year my brother was born, I’ve got a very strong bond with him: it’s as if he’s accompanying me out onto the pitch,” continued Bastoni speaking to Sky Sport.
“Playing for Inter, being here, it’s all a dream. It’s an experience that I live day by day. I’m improving a lot thanks to the group and the Coach, I hope to be able to keep this up. Conte couldn’t have come at a better time for me: he really knows how to bring the best out of young players. He’s a great coach, he’s helping me a lot and even after good performances he always encourages you to do better, to never be satisfied. I’m proud of all the responsibility I’m being trusted with.
“We know that it will be difficult to catch up with Juventus, but we’re working day after day to try and win every game, that’s our goal and we’ll see where we are at the end of the year. I like to play my football in a calm way: I love playing, it doesn’t matter whether it’s on the training pitch or in front of 80,000 people, it’s fun.
“I have the privilege of training and playing with great champions, with extraordinary defenders. They treat me as if I were their younger brother and give me lots of advice. Godin teaches me a lot about marking, but what I admire the most is their ability and willingness to give advice: they are wonderful people even on a human level. We’re a great group and we really care about each other: at Inter we step out onto the pitch with a smile.”
