MILAN – We’ve reached another Sunday, meaning it’s time for another Inter Quiz. This will be the third in the series and will give Nerazzurri fans another opportunity to put themselves to the test and answer questions about their beloved team.

In collaboration with Opta, today’s Quiz will focus on headers, because Inter are the side to have scored the most headed goals in Serie A this season. Do you know how many? Read on to find out.

1) Inter are the side to have scored the most headers during the 2019/20 Serie A season. How many?

11The Nerazzurri have scored eleven headers in the league this campaign, more than any other side. Lautaro and Lukaku have contributed to this tally with three each. The Argentine scored with his head in both of Inter’s fixtures against Cagliari and against SPAL at the Meazza. Lukaku, meanwhile, headed home against Milan twice this season (he scored the final goals in Inter’s 0-2 and 4-2 wins) and scored a header against Genoa. In total, the Belgian striker has found the net five times with his head so far having also scored in this manner in the Coppa Italia against Cagliari and against Ludogorets in the return leg of the round of 32 clash between Inter and the Bulgarians in the Europa League. As regards Serie A, the other players to have netted with headed efforts are: Vecino (Verona), Sensi (Udinese), de Vrij (Milan), Bastoni (Lecce), D'Ambrosio (Lazio). Furthermore, Ranocchia scored a header against Cagliari in the Coppa Italia, meaning the Nerazzurri have scored a total of 14 headed goals in all competitions up to this point.

2) Against which team have Inter scored two headers in the same match this season?

MilanInter ran out 4-2 winners in this season’s return Derby fixture having made it 3-2 and 4-2 through headers from de Vrij and Lukaku respectively.

3) Which Inter player has made the most headed clearances this campaign?

Stefan de VrijStefan de Vrij is a commanding figure in central defence, leading by example with his feet and head. The Dutchman has made 40 headed clearances this season. His heading ability is also something he looks to make the most out of in attack, like when he made it 3-2 in the return Derby fixture.

4) Which Inter player has had the most headed efforts on target during the 2019/20 Serie A campaign?

Romelu LukakuAs already mentioned, the Belgian attacker has scored the most headers for Inter this season. He’s also the player who has had the most headed efforts on target in the league: seven, three of which have ended in the net.

5) Considering only headed goals, which player has provided the most assists this season?

Antonio CandrevaCandreva has provided a total of five assists this season, three of which were crosses that were headed home by a teammate: Lautaro against SPAL, Lukaku against Genoa and de Vrij (from a corner) against Milan.

6) Who is the only player to have scored more than one headed goal past Samir Handanovic in Serie A since the Slovenian goalkeeper has been at Inter?

Giacomo BonaventuraThe Milan midfielder has scored past Handanovic with headers for Atalanta and his current club, with his goal for the Rossoneri coming in Inter’s 3-2 Derby win in 2017.7) How many headed goals did Inter score in the Champions League in their triumphant 2009/10 season?

3The Nerazzurri scored three headers in Europe’s elite competition that season, all of which were very important. First, Dejan Stankovic’s diving header in the team’s 1-1 draw against Rubin Kazan. Second, Walter Samuel’s finish against Dynamo Kyiv at home. Third, Milito’s unforgettable headed goal against Barcelona in Inter’s 3-1 first-leg semi-final victory against Barcelona at San Siro.
