Bastoni: "These victories represent a break with the past"

TURIN – At the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Inter picked up another three points thanks to goals from Lukaku and Lautaro: “We knew the obstacles that we were going to face”, Alessandro Bastoni told Inter TV. “Torino showed themselves to be a difficult side to play despite their position in the table. The difference from last season is that we now win these difficult matches.

“We prepared well for it during the week, with Skriniar and I playing further up the pitch and the centre-midfielders rotating. We tried lots of things, they were good at defending, but we managed to break through and then take the lead again with a great goal after their equaliser.”

Regarding the scramble that led to Sanabria getting the equaliser to make it 1-1, the Nerazzurri defender explained: “I wasn't fully aware of what had happened, I headed the ball and then fell to the floor, I’m yet to watch the footage back. It was quite a lucky goal, they're a threat from dead-ball situations."

It's now time to focus on Sassuolo, the Nerazzurri's next opponents: “We're aware of the qualities they possess, they have different characteristics compared to Torino. They're a very strong side, but we know how important the match is.”
