CEO Sport speaks before Inter's first pre-season friendly
LUGANO – Giuseppe Marotta spoke to Sky Sport Italia about Inter's objectives for the season shortly before Saturday's friendly match against Lugano.
“Our targets are the same as always: to honour the shirt and challenge for trophies,” he began. “Inter's history demands that: this is a club with a glorious, successful past.
“We also have a duty to honour the Scudetto shield we wear on our shirts. We have a big season ahead.”
The Nerazzurri CEO Sport went on to speak about Simone Inzaghi's squad for the coming campaign.
“We're still waiting for lots of players who were involved in the Euros and the Copa America to come back, but apart from selling [Achraf] Hakimi we plan to keep this squad together. They gave us plenty to cheer about last season and proved what a great team they are.
“We also have players like [Federico] Dimarco who will get the chance to show Inzaghi what they can do. He's the present and the future of Inter and I think he could surprise a few people this season, but that goes for all the other young players who play for Inter too.”
