Inter’s 104 Serie A goals in 2021: watch them all!

Take a look back at every Nerazzurri goal in 2021, from hitting Crotone for six to Dumfries’ winner against Torino

MILAN – We are taking you on a long and beautiful journey that starts and ends at San Siro, kicking off with Lautaro Martinez and culminating with Denzel Dumfries, as we tell the story of Inter’s goalscoring exploits in 2021. It was a magical year in which Inter claimed a 19th Scudetto crown and finished the calendar year on top of the pile.

The Nerazzurri were involved in 43 fixtures over the course of the year, spanning the second half of the 2020/21 campaign and the first half of the 2021/22 term, racking up no fewer than 32 wins (19 of which were at San Siro) and suffering just three defeats. The incredible stats show a tally of 104 points and just as many goals scored.

The team’s return of 104 Serie A goals in 2021 has only been bettered by AC Milan in 1950 (120) and 1949 (105) and Torino in 1948 (114) and 1947 (111), showing that such figures are usually associated with bygone eras. In the first half of the 2021/22 term, Inter became just the second team in 60 years to score 49 goals by the halfway stage of a Serie A season, joining Atalanta’s 2019/20 side in the record books.

The top goalscorer at Inter in the Italian flight in 2021 was Lautaro on 22 goals, with an equal split in each half of the calendar year. No fewer than 22 different scorers got on the scoresheet for Inter during the year, while three opposition players also chipped in with own goals.

There were a whole host of unforgettable goals scored in 2021, from Nicolo Barella’s strike against Juventus, three goals to put AC Milan to the sword in the derby, Matteo Darmian’s crucial winners against Cagliari and Hellas Verona, Hakan Calhanoglu’s wonder strikes and Edin Dzeko’s trademark headers all the way to Dumfries’ goal to end 2021 in style.
