Spalletti: "Important to have shown our work from the past few days"

LUGANO - The Nerazzurri’s first pre-season outing was a success on Saturday, as they secured a 3-0 win over Lugano in the 110 Summer Cup. This was what LucianoSpalletti had to say after the game: “I saw some tough tackling out there, immediately testing our strength and character. We passed the ball around well at certain points, with pace. The important thing was to show the work that we’ve been putting in. This is a very delicate moment in terms of our work.

“Lautaro did well to keep the ball, put himself about and threaten the goal. He can play with Icardi, and we’ll try it out soon depending on how easy it is. There are some other things still to cover and the defensive side to work on.

“We are an important club with an important past and right now we have a strong side. We have thousands of people that defend our colours and we must prove to them that they made the right choice.”
