TRENTO - On 22 May 2010, Inter wrote a page in the history of Italian and European football. The club became the first - and only - Serie A side to pull off the feat of winning the treble. Today in Trento, that record-breaking team was celebrated with anecdotes told at the Festival dello Sport organised by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Many figures from the era were in attendance: Julio Cesar, Toldo, Orlandoni, Maicon, Materazzi, Milito and current Inter Vice President Zanetti. Also there was Massimo Moratti, who was President at the time, along with Marco Branca, Tronchetti Provera and the current CEO Alessandro Antonello.

On the stage in Trento, it was Massimo Moratti who told the story of what that historic achievement meant. "There was a team spirit that went beyond the pitch," he began. "Against Dynamo Kyiv, it was a real sliding door moment where it all changed in the span of five minutes, as is happening with the current Inter side."

Javier Zanetti was also on stage to lift the Champions League for the crowd in Trento: "Mourinho gave us a great sense of conviction in what we were doing, that was the secret behind the treble."

Current Inter Forever director Francesco Toldo is responsible for bringing together all the greats from the club’s past: "Inter Forever is an idea that emerged some years ago, lots of great players have been at Inter and we thought that it would be a nice idea to maintain that sense of friendship and belonging. It’s not always easy to bring so many greats together, but we have a link to these colours that mean life and family."

CEO Alessandro Antonello also spoke: "Our owners are very important, I also offer greetings from Steven Zhang. We’re a big family with the same values and the same passion, don’t think that geographical distance means disconnection."
