MILAN – It was an exciting morning for a number of children being treated in the paediatric departments of four hospitals in Milan: they were paid a visit by Javier Zanetti and four players each from the men’s First Team, Inter Women and the Nerazzurri’s Primavera side.
The initiative, which was undertaken in collaboration with the Club’s Official Bank and Top Partner Crédit Agricole, saw the involvement of Valentino Lazaro, Andrea Ranocchia, Daniele Padelli and Stefan de Vrij, Inter Women players Gloria Marinelli, Irene Santi, Roberta Aprile and Ella Van Kerkhoven, plus Thomas Schirò, Matias Fonseca, Samuele Mulattieri and Michael Ntube from the Primavera.
Together with Nerazzurri Vice-President Javier Zanetti, CEO Corporate Alessandro Antonello and a delegation of Inter and Crédit Agricole employees, the players visited the following hospitals: Policlinico-Mangiagalli, Buzzi, Istituto Tumori and Centro Maria Letizia Verga. There was plenty of enthusiasm as they brought joy to children who are currently hospitalised.
“It’s always emotional spending time with the many children who will unfortunately spend Christmas in hospital,” said Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti. “For Inter, social responsibility is one of the Club’s core values and we carry out projects like this with enthusiasm. Putting smiles on the faces of less fortunate children is the best thing that exists and we hope that we’ve given them a day that they’ll never forget.”
CEO Corporate Alessandro Antonello also added: “It’s a privilege to be able to take part in an initiative like this. I’d like to thank everyone who helped to make this day possible, Inter is a special family and the Club’s focus on those less fortunate than us helps to show that.”
