MILAN – A high-quality performance capped off with a wonderful assist for Barella’s goal to make it 2-0: “I’m watching it back now,” said a smiling Alessandro Bastoni in an interview with Sky following Inter’s victory over Juventus. “We’ve been trying this move with Nicolò for a long time now, and it led to a goal this evening. I wanted to put the ball into space and that’s where it dropped. I’m happy.”
The defender continued: “There was a lot of positivity during tonight’s game. We were very well prepared and really wanted to do well, because we didn’t manage to beat Juventus last year. I’d like to compliment the whole team on this performance.
“We remained focused for the whole match. I think that we showed that we’d worked well during the week. The midfielders helped us out a lot, and we know that we can do a lot better if we remain compact. It was a great team effort to keep all their attacking options in check.”
