MILAN – Despite dominating proceedings at the Stadio Alberto Picco, Inter were held to a 1-1 draw by Spezia yesterday evening. Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri were able to extend their advantage over second-place AC Milan, who lost to Sassuolo, to ten points. Conte’s men had 20 shots (compared to one for the opposition), two goals ruled out and numerous chances in a match where determination and a solid performance certainly weren’t lacking.
On Twitter, you can vote for the player who you thought performed best in La Spezia. Four Nerazzurri are in contention to pick up the MVP award:
Perisic | Scored Inter’s equaliser on his 200th Nerazzurri appearance and came close to bagging a brace.
Lautaro Martinez | Had five shots and hit the woodwork on two occasions. He was just missing that bit of luck in what was a determined display.
Hakimi | The Nerazzurri produced 16 crosses in total, which is testament to the work done down the wings. The Moroccan made life difficult for the Spezia backline, with his cross from the right leading to Perisic’s goal.
Barella | The Italian displayed hard graft, intensity and teamwork. He also came close to scoring.
