MILAN - It's a special day for Inter, the day the Club won their 19th Scudetto. The Nerazzurri's CEO Sport Giuseppe Marotta spoke to Sky Sport.
"We have managed to close a big gap; there was a team that had won the league for nine consecutive years. Last year, we ran Juventus to just one point in it and made it to the Europa League final. This year, however, we've one it with four games to spare, all down to the team. We could finish the season on 94 points, which would mean that this team has progressed rapidly."
"Conte deserved a lot of praise for this achievement. He was a winner as a player and he's a winner as a coach. He's imparted some great values onto the players, who hadn't won much - save for a few. Conte is the real leader of this group due to this experience, culture of work and values. He's the right coach, in the right place, at the right time. He's managed to transmit these characteristics that I knew he had in the past by working with him."
"The situation in football as of now is a complicated one from an economic point of view. It's tough for everyone. There's a dream for next year; it would be amazing to win it next season too because it would be the Scudetto that earns us our second star."
Finally, a look at next season: "We've closed an existing gap but, from 1 July, we go again, against teams that have a lot of strength and a good chance to do well, like Atalanta for example."
