The Nerazzurri midfielder spoke to Inter TV from Appiano Gentile

APPIANO GENTILERoberto Gagliardini spoke exclusively to Inter TV about the positive atmosphere around the Inter camp as the squad got stuck into its sixth day of pre-season on Tuesday.

“There’s been a feeling of positivity throughout these first few days of the training camp,” said Gagliardini. “We’re working hard and building up our fitness. Obviously we’re looking forward to the rest of our team-mates coming back so we can properly prepare for the start of the season. We have a lot of young players training with us at the moment – they’re working hard and giving it their all, which is just the attitude they need for their careers moving forward.”

Gagliardini went on to look ahead to the upcoming 2021/22 season.

“First of all we have a trophy to play for [the Italian Super Cup] – and we want to win it,” he said. “Then we’ll want to consolidate ourselves in the league and do better in both the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.”

The Italian midfielder also had a few words for Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez after their success with their international teams.

“I’d like to congratulate my team-mates once again – we’ve already spoken in our chats,” he said. “I’m pleased that Italy are European Champions again after so long, especially at the current time. It’s a victory that will give us all a real boost – not just in the world of sport either.”

Last but not least, Gagliardini revealed that he spent time with a familiar face during his holidays.

“I spent my time off with my family, but I also had a few days with [Danilo] D’Ambrosio,” he said. “It was fun and relaxing – and we were also able to train together.”
