APPIANO GENTILE – Stefano Sensi has revealed there's “a buzz about the place” as Inter gear up for the new season with Simone Inzaghi at the helm.
The Nerazzurri midfielder was speaking exclusively to Inter TV after the first two weeks of pre-season.
You've just got married. How did it go?
“I'm thrilled! It was a wonderful day – very emotional. It's a big step in my life. I'm just very happy.”
How do you feel and how are the first weeks of pre-season going?
“I'm good. There's a buzz about the place. We want to get in shape for the season ahead because it's going to be very difficult. The other teams have strengthened but we have to focus on ourselves and on doing well.”
Winning the title has boosted your self-belief and helped foster a winning mentality. What's the target for the coming season?
“Our aim is to fight tooth and nail to defend our title. We must give our all. There's a good atmosphere and we're all keen to work so it bodes well.”
You've had a bit of time to get to know the new coaching staff. What's your impression of Simone Inzaghi?
“Very good. All the coaches are very good at their jobs. They work hard and are sharing their ideas. We're happy and we're all enjoying it.”
Serie A kicks off in a month's time, at home against Genoa. How do you imagine it?
“I imagine it with the fans. We've been without them for so long so it would be great. It's going to be a difficult game because Genoa are a good team and everyone wants to start off on the right foot strong. We'll make sure we're ready for it and hopefully get the three points.”
