Inter Academy Toronto has teamed up with Bebe Vio and Nike to inaugurate the Bebe Vio Academy (BVA), created with the aim of encouraging youngsters with physical disabilities to get involved in sport.
Youngsters from the Nerazzurri programme, along with athletes, coaches and volunteers, trained with children from the Bebe Vio Academy, taking part in different Paralympic sports.
The initiative – thought up by Bebe Vio and Nike – is run by art4sport Onlus, an association founded by the champion wheelchair fencer and her family, which has been working for years to promote sport as a tool for social integration and personal development.
BVA is a multi-year project offering sports activities for children and youngsters aged 6 to 18. The goal is to help youngsters with and without disabilities integrate in society through sport by promoting interaction in five Paralympic sports: football, athletics, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and wheelchair fencing.
