An Italian delegation from Inter Academy was in attendance at the inauguration along with Francesco Toldo who was present as an ambassador. The project was also presented at a press conference.
"Playing football is the dream of every child and through the values of sport, they also have the possibility to grow as people. Thanks to Inter Academy and the abilities of its coaches, this can all happen. I’m happy that the dreams of children can come true thanks to Inter Academy and I’m equally confident that this collaboration in Ukraine with a serious and capable partner such as FC Arsenal Kharkiv means that beyond sporting values, we can also share ethical and moral ones," said Francesco Toldo.
Support from the Inter Academy team will allow for the sharing of the Nerazzurri’s know-how, bringing opportunities for young people to develop and training according to the high technical and ethical standards set by Inter but in their own country, the natural environment in which to grow not just as footballers but as people also. For this reason, Inter’s expertise is not only shared with the young players but local coaches also. This is the only way to build the structures required to develop youth football in a complete fashion.
At the opening ceremony, around 60 youngsters aged between 8 and 15 took part in activities on the pitch with over 140 in the stands. In the early days of the project, two Nerazzurri coaches will be in place to coordinate and train the local coaches.
