This is what the midfielder had to say after the 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund
MILAN – By the end of stoppage time at the end of the second half, Nicolò Barella had given his all on the pitch at San Siro with a performance full of quality and desire to help the Nerazzurri preserve their precious lead. It was a gladiator-like performance. He spoke to Sky Sport after the match: “We won while staying compact for 90 minutes and without giving Borussia Dortmund an inch. We need to perform like this all the time because this is what the Coach wants.”
“We deserved more from the Barcelona game, but today we remained focused throughout the match and we managed to close it out. Conte is helping me so much with my ability to manage the key moments in matches. We are on journey as a team: sometimes we make mistakes but today we gave away very little against a strong team in Borussia Dortmund. It was a fantastic victory, we will celebrate it now but we will be thinking about the next match soon.”
The midfielder also spoke to Inter TV: “We showed that against Sassuolo it was just a case of lack of concentration , sometimes we’ve played well and struggled to score but today we managed both. I do what the Coach asks me to do in order to help the team and that’s the most important thing. We got a win today and we’re even happier! I like to battle, to win duels, to get to the ball ahead of my opponent. Without a doubt trust is a very important element for the Club, for the Coach, for my teammates and I try and repay this trust with my performances on the pitch.”
