MILAN - Pirelli remains alongside Inter but with a new role. Starting from next season, until the 2023/24 season, the company will become the club’s Global Tyre Partner after having been on the Nerazzurri jersey for 26 years.
The seasons spent together, and the ones in the future, make this partnership one of the longest lasting in the world of football. The new relationship is testimony to the mutual trust between Pirelli and Inter, built over many years of common passion.
Even in the new role, which considers the needs related to a corporate strategy that defines new investment priorities with respect to market segments, audiences, and countries, Pirelli will continue to nurture the shared values that binds it to Inter and enhances its brand and products thanks to its collaboration with the team. The signed partnerships include, among other things, the development of joint marketing and communication actions to promote and describe Pirelli products and services for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles.
Andrea Casaluci, General Manager Operations Pirelli: “A long history of sporting passion transforms and continues. We have lived through difficult moments together but above all, we have celebrated great successes. We are happy to be able to continue our relationship with one of the most important and famous football teams in the world and are proud to remain close to the team and the fans to share other moments of passion and new successes”.
“We are happy to announce the continuation of the relationship between Inter and Pirelli, a historic and successful collaboration that has lasted for 26 years. Pirelli is part of the Nerazzurri family, and we hope that this new partnership agreement will allow us to reach new important milestones together”, said Alessandro Antonello, Corporate CEO of FC Internazionale Milano.
PIRELLI AND INTER: A LONG-LASTING BOND
On 27 August 1995, Pirelli and Inter took to the field together for the first time. Since then, 26 years of sharing common values and successes have passed, including the first major international trophy won during this sponsorship, the UEFA Cup at the Parc des Princes in Paris in May 1998. A bond that has journeyed around the world with moments that have become iconic, such as the 1998 Pirelli commercial in which the Phenomenon Ronaldo is portrayed in the same pose as Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, or the special racing uniforms with the surnames of the players reproduced in characters Chinese to celebrate the Chinese New Year. As many as 14 national titles and 3 international trophies, including a Club World Cup and a Treble, are the successes that characterise this partnership which goes beyond the sole objective of victory, and testifies to the reliability and strength of an unbreakable bond.
