The Chilean scored a key goal in the 3-1 triumph over Sheriff

MILAN – Arturo Vidal more than made his presence felt at a pivotal point of Inter’s clash with Sheriff. The midfielder popped up to restore the hosts’ lead soon after the Moldovan side had got back on level terms, ensuring Inter got back to winning ways at San Siro in the Champions League and now sit on four points in the group. Vidal, who was rested for the trip to Lazio after returning from international duty in South America, made a telling contribution at the Meazza.

Arturo described the match to Inter TV: “We needed this win. These three points give us confidence for our Champions League path and also for Sunday against Juventus. We have to keep working hard in this way in order to do better and better.

“I definitely dedicate my goal to my daughter Elisabetta. I’d promised her that before the game. She watches me play from Chile and I’m pleased that I’ve made her happy. I’m also pleased that the fans expect so much from me. I always try to give my all and work hard. We produced a great performance tonight. It was so important to bounce back.”
