INTER PRIMAVERA SINK ROMA

Goals from Rover and Rivas saw the Nerazzurri U19s defeat the Giallorossi 2-1 in the top-of-the-table Primavera clash

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Inter Primavera inflicted a 2-1 defeat on Roma on Sunday morning to strengthen their hold on top spot in Group C.

The Nerazzurri took the lead on 23 minutes as Carraro expertly picked out Rover, who burst into the box from the left and beat Crisanto to make it 1-0.

Roma equalised 16 minutes into the second half after Vanheusden was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area – Marchizza stepped up to level the scores at 1-1.

Yet Stefano Vecchi’s men stayed positive and got their reward on 71 minutes, Rivas gathering the ball in the penalty box and stabbing a right-footed shot into the back of the net.

The win means Inter move onto 43 points, four ahead of Roma.
