The Nerazzurri defender starred in the latest episode of Caffe Doppio: "The future looks bright. We want to end the season in the best way possible"

APPIANO GENTILE – Marco Andreolli was tonight’s guest for the latest episode of Caffe Doppio, talking about his life on and off the pitch.

The chat began with his earliest memories of playing sport.

"I started out in basketball," the defender began, "because I come from a basketball family, but it didn’t last long as I always preferred the ball between my feet. My parents never forced me into making a decision and always gave me total support, sticking by me at every moment.

"My dad is also an Inter fan, so he followed my development step by step with added interest because he was supporting his favourite team at the same time. It was an incredible feeling for him to see me make my Champions League debut in the Nerazzurri shirt."

Andreolli then moved on to reveal what he likes to do in his spare time.

"I like art, music and cooking," he revealed. "I don’t have a favourite recipe yet, but I like cooking fish, especially as a main course. I do have an Instagram profile, although I don’t use it much."

Back onto football matters, the conversation turned to his experience at Sevilla.

"It was fantastic," Andreolli said looking back. “It’s just a shame it ended with the worst injury of my career. It was an incredible season for the club, culminating in victory in the Europa League."

Marco also cast his mind back to his first goal for Inter.

"I haven’t scored that many in my career; the first one was a header against Messina during a 4-0 win in the 2006/07 Coppa Italia. I then scored on the last day of the season against Chievo Verona in 2013/14."

Andreolli wrapped up the episode with his thoughts on the rest of the current season for Inter.

"We have to get back to winning ways straight away against Sampdoria," he concluded. "We know it will be tough for third place, but we’ll try until the very end looking to finish the season in the best way possible.

"The future looks bright. We have to continue down the path we’ve been on for a couple of months with desire and determination to get back to the top."
