The Club, which has always fought to safeguard the rights of all men, women and children, reaffirms this commitment by joining the United Nations in celebrating Human Rights Day: stand up for Human Rights!

On 10 December 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. The right to life, dignity and liberty, fundamental rights that, as the Declaration lays out, apply to all human beings from the moment they’re born. This year, the theme of Human Rights Day is “Recover Better - Stand up for Human Rights”, because safeguarding these rights is the responsibility of all of us.

Sport has long been seen by the United Nations as a tool to promote and facilitate the advancement of human rights. Playing and getting involved in sports helps to combat discrimination and exclusion and also promotes peace, development and integration.

These are the beliefs that have always guided Inter Campus’ work, especially in relation to young girls and boys throughout the world. It’s with them that we want to celebrate this day, recognising their fundamental rights in doing so.
