Slovakia now look ahead to Wednesday's game against near-neighbours the Czech Republic.
De Vrij and the Netherlands were also victorious in their game in Group 1 of League A. The Oranje beat Bosnia 3-1 thanks to a Wijnaldum brace and a goal from Depay and are now second in the group on eight points, behind Italy. The Inter man started the game and played the full 90 minutes.
