The Nerazzurri hit three past Roma in big clash at the top

ROME – At the Stadio Tre Fontane today, the Inter’s U19s beat Roma 3-1 thanks to goals from Sottini, Vezzoni and Satriano. Thanks to this victory on matchday 24 in the Primavera 1 TIM division, the Nerazzurri have momentarily moved top and hold a two-point advantage over Sampdoria, who will face Atalanta this afternoon. As for the Giallorossi, they now trail Inter by four points.

The match began in an entertaining fashion, with both teams playing some nice football and finding space in attacking areas. Zanotti was particularly lively for Inter down the right flank and was causing the Roma rearguard various problems. Meanwhile, Podgoreanu was the Giallorossi player threatening the most.

The Nerazzurri took the lead in the 21st minute: Vezzoni played in a free kick from the left and Sottini managed to add the finishing touch. Then, following a balanced period, Satriano whipped in a perfect cross for Vezzoni, who fired home to double Inter’s advantage with 41 minutes on the clock. After two minutes of stoppage time, the referee blew the half-time whistle with Armando Madonna’s side two to the good.

The second half started with another Inter goal, with Satriano winning a penalty and then stepping up to score from twelve yards out. Roma then reduced the arrears with a spot-kick of their own: Wieser was penalised for a foul on Bove, and Milanese found the net.

It continued to be a hard-fought affair until the end, with Inter defending stubbornly to see the match out. A 3-1 victory that, for the time being, takes Inter top.
