INTER VS. LAZIO IN THE COPPA ITALIA: HEAD-TO-HEAD
Inter vs Lazio is a familiar Coppa Italia clash, with a very balanced record across their 18 encounters: seven wins for the Nerazzurri, six for the Biancocelesti, and five draws. However, in the only final between the two sides, Lazio came out victorious: in the 1999/00 edition, Eriksson’s team lifted the trophy after winning on aggregate. Goals from Nedvěd and Simeone overturned Seedorf’s first-leg advantage at the Olimpico, while the return leg at San Siro ended goalless, sealing the title for Lazio. Inter did win in their most recent meeting: last season, the two sides met in the quarter-finals, with Arnautović and Çalhanoğlu scoring in a commanding 2–0 victory at San Siro. The Nerazzurri also recorded the same result away in the 2008 semi-final, when goals from Pelé and Cruz secured their place in the final.
