Inter draw with Torino at the Stadium Olimpico Grande Torino. The Nerazzurri took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Thuram and Bisseck, but the Granata equalised with a goal from Simeone and Vlasić's penalty. It's a crucial point that keeps the Nerazzurri securely at the top of the table and gives them a major opportunity in the next matchday at San Siro against Parma.
Here are Cristian Chivu's comments following Torino vs. Inter:
“There’s a degree of regret, because we had the game in our hands and then lost it after their final push. Their first goal unsettled us and the second was a consequence of that. We tried to react, but in the end these are the kind of matches you can lose all too easily. Credit to Torino, who never gave up and believed until the end. I talk about football. I’m a coach and I’m here to prepare the team as well as possible and to bring calm and clarity. I take responsibility for the draw, but in the end it doesn't change that much. There are four matches left and we need three more points to secure the league. Injury problems? Çalhanoğlu and Dumfries aren't at their best. For Lautaro it’s still a long road back, and I nearly gave Bastoni a few minutes in the second half, even though he isn’t fully fit. But it’s never easy to come to certain grounds at this stage of the season. When you’re 2–0 up you might start to think it’s easy because you haven’t really been under threat, then you concede and you begin to tense up. If certain moments go against you, you can end up conceding a comeback that could even have been worse. I’ve been in dressing rooms myself during my career and I know what players go through — how they experience these situations and what it means to play for Inter. You have to embrace them, always tell the truth and remain consistent without abandoning your ideas. I can try to play my part, but in the end everything depends on the players’ response. I’ve been fortunate because these boys bought into it straight away. We’ve had a strong season: 25 wins, 80 league goals and more than 100 in total. That’s not easy to achieve, and the credit goes to them for embracing everything we asked of them.”
