Marco Mandelli’s Giovanissimi Regionali side beat Red Bull Salzburg in the final to lift the trophy

BRESCIA – Following on from the Giovanissimi Regionali B’s triumph at the Giuseppe Augello Memorial Cup, the Giovanissimi Regionali rounded off their own season with victory at the 10th Guido Settembrini Cup in Brescia.

Marco Mandelli’s young Nerazzurri beat a Brescia XI 3-1 in the quarter-finals, before crushing Chievo Verona 5-1 at the semi-final stage.

In the final itself, the Nerazzurri were held to a 1-1 draw by Red Bull Salzburg to send the clash to penalties. Inter goalkeeper Anane was the star in the shootout, saving two spot-kicks from the Austrians to ensure Mandelli’s side won through 5-3. Anane had earlier saved a Red Bull Salzburg penalty at the end of the first half.
