On 17 June 1973, Mariolino bade farewell to the Inter faithful after 503 appearances, though his love for the Nerazzurri colours would never fade

MILAN – It’s Throwback Thursday time again, and this week we’re remembering the last-ever Inter appearance of a true Nerazzurri legend: Mario Corso.

On 17 June 1973, in Inter’s 1-1 Coppa Italia draw with Juventus at San Siro, Mariolino graced the Meazza turf in Inter black and blue for the very last time.

In total, Corso spent 16 seasons at Inter. In that time, he made 502 appearances and scored 94 goals, helping La Grande Inter side win four Scudetto titles, two Cup Winners’ Cups and two Intercontinental Cup.

After spending the next two seasons in Liguria with Genoa, Corso embarked on a career in management. He returned to Inter as Primavera coach for the 1984/85 season, taking charge of the first team the year afterwards.
