Zanetti expecting great things in 2016/17

MILAN - Javier Zanetti has revealed his hopes and expectations for the new season in an exclusive interview with Inter Channel.

Speaking at an event held at Brooks Brothers flagship store in Milan on Friday night, the vice president said: "I'm expecting a great season and I expect to see us challenging on all fronts. The Europa League is a good platform to build on, although it's a tough competition with lots of games and loads of decent teams. Hopefully we'll do better in Serie A too.

"We need to start over with the core of the side we already have in place and improve further with the new lads coming in. We want to build a team that's capable of challenging at the top.

"I'm really happy Eder scored for Italy. He works his socks off for the team.

"Our fans are always right there behind us. Inter fans are unique."
