Eder and Italy progress to Euro 2016 quarters

The Azzurri put in a solid showing to defeat Spain 2-0 in the last 16. Our man Eder plays 82 minutes


MILAN - Eder helped Italy beat reigning European champions Spain this evening to set up a Euro 2016 quarter-final clash with world champions Germany.

A first-half goal by Giorgio Chiellini - following Eder's free kick - and an injury-time strike by Graziano Pelle saw the Azzurri emerge as 2-0 victors at the Stade de France.

The Inter forward played 82 minutes of the encounter.
