"I’ve learned a lot. There are great professionals here," said the Australian after making his first appearance for the Nerazzurri

MILAN Trent Sainsbury spoke of his pride after he became the first Australian ever to play for F.C. Internazionale in Sunday’s 5-2 win over Udinese.

"It’s an honour to be able to play a match for Inter and I’m delighted to have done it here at San Siro," said the defender. "It was important to play well when I came on. This squad is packed with talent and it wasn’t easy for me to find space.

"I’ve been surrounded by great professionals both on and off the pitch – you learn something every day. You can’t let yourself be intimidated on the pitch. The yellow card? I just wanted to show that I was up for it."
