Throwback Thursday: Stankovic’s stunner against Genoa

MILAN – It’s Throwback Thursday time again, and this week – with Inter’s trip to Genoa looming large – we’re remembering one of the five goals the Nerazzurri stuck past Genoa when they visited Marassi on 17 October 2009.

In the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time, with Inter already leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Cambiasso and Balotelli, Dejan Stankovic took advantage of a wayward clearance by the Genoa goalkeeper to guide a stunning volley into the back of the net. Vieira and Maicon then scored in the second half to secure a 5-0 win for Inter.
