Rabbas initially opened the scoring, before Zaniolo then bagged a headed equaliser

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Inter and Chievo shared the points during their matchday three Primavera 1 TIM fixture on Friday, with coach Vecchi making a number of changes to his side in view of their upcoming UEFA Youth League match against Dynamo Kiev.

With the unprecedented attacking pairing of Pinamonti and Odgaard, Inter had the first chance of the match in the sixth minute, although Zaniolo’s strike was unable to find the target. The 17th minute then saw the visiting side fly forwards on the counter-attack, although Dekic was there to turn Chievo’s resulting effort out for a corner. Both teams had a number of chances as the half petered out, although neither were able to break the deadlock. The interval soon arrived and the scoreline was still 0-0.

Following the interval, Chievo Verona had two superb chances to score, although once again Dekic was there to keep them out. Much the better team during the second period, the away side crucially took the lead in the 70th minute. Making the most of a cross from Omayer, Rabbos was present at the far post to stick the ball past the Nerazzurri’s No.1. Vecchi’s side subsequently raised the tempo in response and it wasn’t long before Zaniolo snatched the equaliser with an accurate header.

Despite several chances late on, Inter were unable to secure the victory, although their full focus will now no doubt be on their Youth League debut on Wednesday 27th at the Stadio Breda.   INTER-CHIEVO VERONA 1-1Goalscorers: Rabbas (70'), Zaniolo (78')
