CIES Football Observatory: Inter Elite Academy remains one of the best in Europe

23 players from the Inter youth set-up are playing in the continent's top five leagues with the club top in Italy and sixth in Europe


MILAN – Trophies are not all which pays testament to the extraordinary success of the Inter Elite Academy after the three main titles were won last season (Primavera, Berretti and Under-17 Serie A and B). The latest CIES Football Observatory report recognises the success achieved by Roberto Samaden and all the coaches and staff who work daily at the Suning Development Centre in Memory of Giacinto Facchetti.

The latest standings for academies across Europe and the players they produce who’ve spent at least three years at a club between the ages of 15 and 21 shows that Inter are the Italian club with the most graduates currently playing in the top five European leagues with 23, Only Real Madrid, Barcelona, Lyon, Athletic Club and Manchester United have helped to develop more players.
