Antonio Valentin has passed away aged 80. He held the record for the most goals scored in a single 18-team Serie A campaign.

Milan - Everyone at FC Internazionale would like to express their sincere condolences on hearing about the death of Antonio Valentin Angelillo. The 'Angel with the Dirty Face' has passed away aged 80.

Angelillo was born in Buenos Aires on 19th March 1937 and arrived at Inter during the 1957/58 season. He scored 16 goals in his first season but went on to make Inter and Italian football history just a year later when he found the net 33 times, a record for an 18-team Serie A season.

He would go on to stay with the Nerazzurri for four seasons, making 127 appearances and scoring 77 goals. Once his playing and coaching careers were over, he returned to Inter as a scout.

The thoughts and prayers of all Inter staff and supporters are with Angelillo's family.
