Inter 1 - 0 Sampdoria, Vecchi: "They were three important points"

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Stefano Vecchi’s Inter returned to winning against Sampdoria on matchday 20 and moved temporarily top of the league ahead of the round of 16 match against Manchester City in the UEFA Youth League. "It was a tough match," said Vecchi to Sportitalia. "We were at risk of putting the win in jeopardy but the three points were the important thing today. At the moment, we need to do well at making the most of the experience from some players because we’ll need another performance on Tuesday. We need to regather our strength and prepare well for the match in Manchester. I’m sure that we’ll do better there." 

"We played a good first half while in the second half we were under some difficulty," he added as the analysis continued with Inter TV. "There were some mitigating circumstances but getting back to winning was the most important thing and that’s also because we’ve not picked up as many points as we’ve deserved lately. Now, we’ll look to Tuesday with the aim of playing our game against a very strong opponent."
