The Sporting Director to Premium Sport ahead of Genoa vs. Inter: "We're on course with our objectives"

Genoa – Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke to Premium Sport ahead of tonight's match between Genoa and Inter. “Spalletti wanted to get everyone going at the press conference by talking about the value of our squad; the transfer window is shut and there's no sense talking about it now," he said. "Inter have done well up until now. We're on track for our objectives. We need to continue if we are to maintain this league position until the end of the season. Icardi? He should be back next week. He's working very hard as always but we didn't want to take any risks. Regarding the contract renewal, there isn't a problem. There's no hurry and both ourselves and the player want to continue working together. Eder? He's just renewed his contract with us. The club has always known his value and he was never on the market. We only have a few goalscorers? We have to better utilise the quality that we have available. We already have the resources and we have to make the most of them without forgetting the importance of having a balanced team.”
