The Inter captain to Inter TV and on Facebook:"We needed a change of direction, now we have to continue like this. Thanks to the fans"

MILAN - There wasn’t even time to celebrate reaching 100 Nerazzurri goals before Mauro Icardi added number 101 40 seconds into the match. In the second half, he completed his brace to make it 3-0 and kill the match off. The captain then spoke exclusively to Inter TV and live on Facebook. “It’s the best way to prepare for the derby,” he said. “Scoring goals is what I need to do, but above all, it’s important to bring consistency to our results. Let’s hope that it does something good for the team as we approach the derby, like in the reverse fixture.”

“We were aware that we needed a change. Our play was so-so for a couple of months but now we’ve started to do well again. Perisic knows the movements that I make, we speak a lot on the pitch. He knows how to make the most of movement inside the box and that’s important for everyone.”

“Wednesday will be important, a lot in the race for the Champions League will depend on the derby. We need to go into it in the right mental state and there will then be other games after. To go into the history of this club was really important and the celebration before the match was a nice surprise. I thank the fans, it was a wonderful celebration. I don’t know how to thank them, our fans are special because they’re always there. Again today, there were 60,000 of them and it’s wonderful for us to play in front of our crowd.”
