The Nerazzurri Coach on the eve of Inter vs. Juventus: "I'm expecting an important performance, it will be wonderful to see the fans colour San Siro"

APPIANO GENTILE - It was time for Luciano Spalletti’s press conference ahead of the match between Inter and Juventus and he was at the media room at the Suning Training Centre to respond to questions from journalists. "I’m confident because the team’s development in this period is clear. The match against Juventus will be very tough but we’re ready to play for our objective of Champions League football in this final part of the season and I wouldn’t have any issue with going to Lazio on the final day to fight for this goal. We have the chance to do something really important, we certainly can’t hide. This is one of those matches where you must take responsibility and look to come up with the plays that make the difference. On the pitch, everything will have to be done in the right way, we’ll need to be able to read different situations because Juventus know how to adapt very well at every moment."

"Nobody handed us those results at the start of the season. They came because of our abilities, then we learnt to deal with our limitations. Now, we’re a more solid side compared to some months ago, we’ve dealt with adversity and gotten through it. Therefore, we’re more self-aware."

"In general, I believe that we can do something more in terms of goals scored but we can’t be afraid of the result tomorrow. I’m just thinking of what we can achieve in this match, a player with character must be happy to have the chance to go up against Juventus."

"Are they angry after the Napoli defeat? We must be ferocious. I’m interested in what the three points mean for us, not denying three points from Juventus. In order to have an efficient defence, you always need support from the attack and the team as a whole."

"Analysis of this season? Our fans are on full points if I have to evaluate their love and support for us, it was that way even in the most difficult parts of this campaign. Juventus have been working for years on this important project of theirs, Napoli have had a lot of consistency. No matter how it ends, Inter cannot start again from zero at the end of the season. It will be wonderful to see the fans make San Siro black and blue with their scarves. There’s a lot of passion, they always make the difference. Our fans are on full points this season."

"Juventus are a very strong team physically but we’re not bad ourselves. From indirect set pieces, we’re level with them while they have something extra for direct free kicks. This week, we trained well and I guarantee that we’re absolutely ready to approach this match in the best of ways."
